Lamp Hair - Boutique Japanese Salon

I had a haircut with Lamp Hair and I couldn't be more satisfied. From the moment I stepped in, I was served with tea. They are also very gentle with how they wash hair. I have been to a lot of salons and Japanese salons are the most gentle when it comes to washing hair. I felt so relaxed. The haircut process was also very relaxing. I was comfortable the whole time I was in the chair. Will definitely come back. I highly recommend them!

Lamp Hair salon continues to be my favourite salon in Sydney. Conveniently located near Town Hall, I’ve been getting my hair cut at this salon since 2017 and I’m continually impressed by their top-notch service. From the warm welcome, the tea, the head message and the skilled haircut from their top stylists, each visit is a fantastic experience. The atmosphere is relaxing and they take the upmost care to ensure you are comfortable. I’d recommend them to anyone looking for a new hair salon.

Came in for a haircut and perm and the service was great. I was greeted warmly at the counter and served tea/snacks throughout my appointment. My stylist did a good job with the cut, perm and whole process. However, the styling process at the end was where the service fell short for me. The stylist had styled my hair slightly differently to what I had asked at the beginning of the consultation. When I asked if my hair could be blow dried further back, the stylist instead gave me directions on how I can do it at home. It seemed like the blow drying process was to just dry my hair, not actually style it. I believe the service could be better improved with more interaction from the stylist to the client. It would have been good to hear their thoughts, opinions and direction. Update: Since my initial appointment, I booked in for a follow up appointment to fix my haircut (my own preference). The process was smooth and quick, and they were happy with my request despite how small/tedious it was. The transparency and level of care shown to their customers has been greater than any other salon I have been to. Thank you to the team at Lamp Hair!

Love the experience at Lamp Hair. Nobuko San was amazing and totally understood what I was looking for - layered, long fringe and curls. I love the service and ambience. Very relaxing and comfortable. The chair for the hair wash station is like a dentist chair and will tilt you back. They also give you bottled water and a delicious sugar cookie. I was also really impressed that the digital perm was very well set up and Nobuko San placed a lot of pads under the heating curls so it wouldn’t be too hot for my scalp. Love the results and got lots of compliments!

I found Lamp Hair after I had bit of a hair disaster. I knew my issue wouldn't be an easy fix but Nobuko was highly attentive and precise with delivering exactly what I requested! The calibre at this salon is high and it's a beautiful and luxurious environment to boot. In terms of other feedback, I'd give extra points if they offered magazines, along with beverages in reusable cups rather than plastic water bottles due to the environmental impact.

Very professional service. The atmosphere was nice and calming. I was seen for my appointment as soon as I arrived. The hair wash was very gentle and relaxing with a good level of pressure for the massage and good water temperature. The blanket was a nice touch. I told Yoshiko what hair concerns I had (heavy, thick hair) and what she recommended for a hairstyle. She talked me through each recommendation and how it would help. The end result looks pretty and is very light! Thank you.
